Since the Munchkin was little, I've always tried to give him a warning countdown before "unpleasant" events were about to occur such as leaving the park. I say "in two minutes we'll leave the park". And then I countdown from there. I do this in the hope that it will make the transition from the park to the car easier.
This morning I got my own warning. The first words out of the Muchkin's mouth were: "Mommy, Daddy.... two minutes....wake up..." Well, at least he gave me fair notice.
